Sexual harassment is a major problem in the work force.  If you have been a victim of sexual harassment, you should contact an attorney immediately.  You have a legal right to work in an environment that is free from any and all types of sexual harassment.

Sexual harassment refers to any un-welcomed and unwanted act or language between an employee and their employer or co-worker that is sexual in nature.  These acts are offensive, degrading, and usually make it difficult for an employee to perform their job duties. In order to prevent sexual harassment from occurring, federal and state employment laws were established to protect all employees from all types of sexual harassment.  Any employer or employee found violating these laws can be sued for monetary damages.

Although women are the primary victims of sexual harassment, men can be victims of sexual harassment as well.  At Onyejekwe & Associates, we represent persons who have suffered from the following acts of sexual harassment:

  • Hostile work environment:
  • Sexual comments
  • Inappropriate touching
  • Inappropriate sexual advances
  • Request for sexual favors
  • Sexual or offensive jokes
  • Uncomfortable stares or glances
  • Inappropriate posters or graphic images
  • Quid Pro Quo- a person in a superior position offers job advancement in exchange for sexual favors, or, when a person in a superior position threatens the victim with employment retaliation if they do not agree to engage in sexual conduct
  • Sexual Assault

In addition to helping victims of sexual harassment, we also represent individuals who have been subjected to employment retaliation as a result as taking legal action against an employer for sexual harassment.
